It looks like us Lansing residents are going to have the chance to vote on increasing property taxes.
Great (of course the council could still jam it down our throats w/o a vote), but what about the people that don’t own property? Of course they’re going to have a vote, but the question is, should they?
I would think not. After all, it’s bad enough that votes allow a majority to impose their will on the minority, but even worse that someone who “doesn’t have skin in the game” would have the ability to affect its outcome.
Just a thought…
